Frequently Asked Questions About Ratings:
- What is ratings?
Ans: Rating consists of two parts, a ratings number and feedback. The ratings number gives members an instant assessment of the performance of a member. A high ratings number means that the member has consistently satisfied their counter party during the completion of a transaction. A low ratings number could mean that the member has consistently failed to satisfy their counter party during the completion of a transaction. The feedback is a more detailed assessment of the member in terms of specific qualities that the member is graded on. Feedback also includes comments and responses from both members involved in the transaction.
- How does ratings work?
Ans: After a transaction has completed, whether it is a sale or a trade, the members involved in the transaction have the opportunity to rate each other on attributes as well as leave comments for all members and future members to see.
- How can I improve my rating?
Ans: By providing fast, accurate and thorough responses to questions, pricing fairly, and promptly delivering quality products or services, members are sure to raise their ratings score.
- What happens if I get a negative rating?
Ans: Ratings provide insight into areas of improvement for each member. For example, if you are consistently rated poorly on timeliness, this may be an area needing improvement. Ratings help not only other members assess your past performance but can also help you assess future performance in terms of what areas you can improve on in order to get higher ratings.
- What are the incentives for a good rating?
Ans: A good rating gives other members the confidence to buy, sell or trade with you.
Building a good rating begins and ends with every transaction. As you start your ratings climb, you will begin to see the level of standard that is required to consistently deliver positive ratings. Essentially, that level of standard you are delivering to other members is the level of standard that you would require for yourself.
- How do I deal with members who rate unfairly?
Ans: If you feel that you have been rated unfairly, you can respond to that rating in your rating response. Members who consistently deliver negative ratings can affect their own credibility. Most people will have a valid reason to rate negative and for those whose reasons are invalid are surely to have a past history of invalid ratings.
